2016 Fall Schedule Information

Fall season setup, for returning team members only, will be at 1 pm on Thursday, August 25, 2016, with a rain day the following day.

The start date for everyone will be Monday, August 29, 2016.

Practices on August 29 and 30 will begin at 2 pm and end at 5:30 pm. All other days’ practices will start at 3:30 pm and end at 6 pm.

We will sail the first four school days of every week, but never on weekdays when school is not in session. In weeks having holidays, we will sail on Fridays.

We will host a regatta on Saturday, October 8, and all team members are expected to attend for at least part of the day.

The last day of sailing this Fall will likely be Thursday, October 27, 2016, but it is weather dependent. The season cleanup date will be Tuesday, November 1 (and the following day if not completed.)

2016 Spring Season Highlights

2016 was a record breaking year! We went 19 and 3 in our team race meets, a new best. For the first time in team history, we were invited to the Mark Trophy Regatta and the National Invitational Tournament which was held this year in Minnesota. Sharon sailors won the first annual Linda Juliano Women's Team Race Regatta, and to culminate our stellar season, we won the Massachusetts Bay League's fleet race championship against 25 other schools.

Sailing Team Movies Are Online

The 2015/2016 SHS sailing team movies are now online along with movies from past years. They are unlisted and can only be accessed by someone with the links which can be found on our Photos page.

Words Of Wisdom

“The goal is not to sail the boat, but rather to help the boat sail herself.”
